Fishing Report - September 2008

We are having some of the best speckle trout fish I have ever experienced here. Last Tue. I had 50, Wed.70 in the morning and 40 in the afternoon, Fri. 30, and Sun. 45. For a total of 235 trout, 31 red drum, and 1 tarpon. The tarpon are pretty thick here right now, but it's time for them to group up and head south. There is a lot of bait in the bay right now. There is a lot shrimp in Winyah Bay but most of them are too small to use for bait let alone eat. I'm hearing of some medium shrimp being caught in the Cape Romain area. I haven't got a report for Bulls Bay area. Now's the time for you to plan you fishing trip to the coast. The big reds are starting to show up.
